Introduction
The Anaesthesia Department at Barasat Cancer Research & Welfare Centre originated within the institute’s initial decade. Over the past three decades, it has transformed from a single anesthetist-operated theatre into a sophisticated suite of major multispecialty theatres. This includes a dedicated intraoperative radiotherapy theatre, a paediatric procedure room, and minor theatres. Our comprehensive services encompass anaesthesia, critical care, acute pain management, interventional pain procedures, and palliative care, ensuring comprehensive patient support.

We emphasize early chest physiotherapy, mobilization, and resumption of nutrition. Rigorous monitoring with standardized scoring enables timely intervention for complications. Our intensivist-led team collaborates with cardiologists, nephrologists, and pulmonologists as required, providing comprehensive care until discharge.
